“Seven More Hotel Stories” is the second volume of tales starring the world’s most glamorous, brilliant and mischievous hotel manager, referred to as Ms N to protect her anonymity.

Seven More Hotel Stories: new paperback and e-book

I’m delighted to announce publication of a brand new book, Seven More Hotel Stories. As an introductory offer, the book is just $0.99 (77p, €0.87) for the e-book, and $12.99 or equivalent for the paperback.

Seven More Hotel Stories - volume 2

This is the second volume after the original Seven Hotel Stories, published in 2019. Again, the tales feature the world’s most glamorous, brilliant and mischievous hotel manager, referred to as Ms N to protect her anonymity. Ms N loves to solve problems – especially when they are caused by men. The tales are chronicled by her young colleague, Tatiana, in the manner of Dr Watson and Sherlock Holmes.

The stories have a strong sense of place. Sausages takes place in the Ultra Platinum Paradise Beach Resort, to which Ms N has been transferred for three months to sort out certain deep-seated problems. Total Control, Mr Smith Sees RedChateau d’Yquem, The Latest Thing and Sense of Arrival are set in a luxury hotel in the historic capital of Tatiana’s beautiful but not yet fully developed homeland. Luxury Spa is set in the HealCol 2000 weight loss spa, high in the Austrian Alps. Given the nature of the stories, none of these locations can be named – except Austria.

Enter Tatiana’s mother

Some stories have been published individually. But Sense of Arrival is all-new. It features for the first time Tatiana’s formidable mother. Tatiana’s mum is an English teacher from her small village far from the historic capital of her beautiful country. She comes to town to check out Mr Joe Scott, an American business visitor. Joe says he has fallen in love with Tatiana and wishes to marry her. Tatiana’s mother brings two very special gifts. Things do not go well.

You know how people say: look at a person’s mother (or father) to try and understand them? Meet Tatiana’s mum and understand why Tatiana is so tenacious, brave, insightful – and, occasionally, fierce.

Inspired by real events

As always, all the stories are inspired by real events, as told to me by hoteliers. I write a new one each year as a birthday gift to my partner, Gözde, herself a top hotelier. She has asked me to point out that the mischievous Ms N is in no way based on her. Let’s get that clear.

What to do next

Seven More Hotel Stories is on Amazon. The e-book remains for now at the special introductory price.

If you like the book, do consider leaving a review on Amazon or Goodreads. “Books without reviews don’t get views”, as they (unfortunately) say. Thanks so much!
