Following my visit to Vienna, I’m in Bonn and Düsseldorf on 3 and 4 November to give talks and sign books. Full details below.

27-29 October: in Vienna

LT at Army Museum Vienna

Speaking at the Army Museum

I gave talks in Vienna at the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum; the House of Scotland; Rotary Club Wien Süd (at the Cafe Museum); the Diplomatic Academy, where I was delighted to see the new director, my old friend Martin Eichtinger; and at Shakespeare & Company, Sterngasse 2, 1010 Vienna. Thanks to all who came – your support really means a lot. I was delighted to sign many books.

3-4 November: Bonn and Düsseldorf

Cycling along the Rhein

When I was posted in Bonn from 1998-99 I used to ride to work along the Rhine every morning

The Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft have kindly invited me to give two talks in Bonn and Düsseldorf in early November. Details:

  • at 19.00 on 3 November I shall be speaking at the Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft in Bonn, Universitätsclub Bonn, Konviktstraße 9, 53113 Bonn, on “How to survive a diplomatic crisis” (in English).
  • at 19.00 on 4 November I shall be speaking at the Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft in Düsseldorf, Goethemuseum Schloss Jägerhof, Jacobistr. 2, also in English, on “How to survive a diplomatic crisis”.

On both occasions I shall be happy to sign books, including those people buy in advance.

I look forward to seeing as many as possible of you at the talks in Bonn and Düsseldorf.
