Amazon availability of my Istanbul thriller “Palladium” is great – except in Türkiye. But – great news – a Turkish-language edition is coming in October.
Amazon availability: not in Türkiye
For years, people have told me that they can’t buy my Istanbul thriller “Palladium” in Türkiye. Until recently, I put this down to my US publishers, Immortal Works. They published a nice paperback edition of the book in 2022, but it was expensive. Then, two things changed.
In 2025, Immortal Works got into financial difficulties and generously returned the rights for “Palladium” to me. I republished it in a better-value paperback edition. There’s also a handsome hardback edition, an e-book and an Audible version. The latter has a professional narrator, actor Joff Manning.

Palladium: the Turkish-language edition
This year, a Turkish publisher bought the rights to produce a Turkish-language edition of “Palladium”. This is wonderful news. I’ve seen the translation already. We expect the Turkish edition to come out in October 2026. But it has highlighted a problem with the English-language edition. Several people living in Turkey have contacted me to tell me they want to read the English version before the Turkish version comes out. But it’s unavailable on Turkish Amazon.
Amazon availability: why is “Palladium” not on Turkish Amazon?
The absence of “Palladium” from Amazon.com.tr is odd. Three of my other self-published books are available: “Blood Summit” (2018), “Eternal Life” (2021) and “Seven Hotel Stories” (2022). So is “Lessons in Diplomacy“, published in 2024 by Bristol University Press. But the 2026 editions of “Palladium” and “Seven More Hotel Stories” are not.
I had a long chat with Amazon on 3 August 2026 to ask about this. To their credit, their chat-bot tried hard to solve the problem, then passed me to a helpful human. The following exchange ensued:
Amazon: Please note that there is no dedicated Amazon website for KDP [Kindle Direct Publishing] books in Turkey. As a result, customers in Turkey can purchase your book through Amazon.com.
Me: so why are Eternal Life and Blood Summit on the amazon.com.tr website?
Amazon: After checking, I can confirm that although the book may appear on the Amazon Turkey website, it is actually being sold by Amazon Germany (Amazon.de).
Me: can I do something to change this?
Amazon: KDP does not directly publish books to the Turkey marketplace. In some cases, books from supported marketplaces, such as Amazon Germany, may appear on the Amazon Turkey website. However, this is handled by Amazon and is not guaranteed for all books... At this time, there isn’t any action that can be taken to make the book appear on the Amazon Turkey website, as KDP does not directly publish to that marketplace. If Amazon makes the book available there in the future, it will happen automatically.
That concluded our exchange. It looks as if all we can do is wait and hope. Both “Palladium” and “Seven More Hotel Stories” sell well in Germany, so perhaps they will appear soon on Amazon Türkiye.
Amazon availability in Türkiye: what to do next
The best thing for people who want to read my Istanbul thriller “Palladium” in Türkiye may be to wait for the Turkish-language edition to appear. That should happen in October.
For those who’d prefer the English edition, Amazon say that readers in Türkiye can order the paperback from Amazon.com. I’d love to hear from anyone in Türkiye who has ordered books form Amazon.com, or indeed Amazon.de, where all my books are available. A quick check on-line suggests that ordering the paperback of “Palladium” from Amazon.com is indeed possible. But on a book costing $13.42, additional shipping and import charges are $14.08, making it rather pricey. Curiously, for the hardback (price $26.62) the shipping and import charges are just $14.02. Finally, it would be good to know whether readers in Türkiye can order the e-book from Amazon.com. Can anyone tell me if that works?
